Nusa Dua, Bali, Black Stone Beach Clean Up

We started at 5:30 am and got organized with 20 locals. We decided this portion of beach was extremely impacted by ocean plastic.

So we started with a little Balinese ceremony.

Then we all gathered together to make a game plan on how to cover the most ground and get every last little piece of plastic or non organic recyclable and non recyclable refuse.

We made teams of two beach cleaning crew members and we zig zagged the 1 km stretch of sand.

As the sun rose higher in the sky.

The beach cleaning crew together decided to drag the heavy bags of ocean plastic towards the truck.

Ocean plastic waste will be sent to a sorting center for the separation and recycling process.

In this day we gathered 150 kg of waste and 200kg recycling. We then took photos and congratulated everyone on their efforts and participation in doing what we do.

Removing ocean bound waste that in turn kills and threatens the marine eco systems.
